A 51-year-old Lone Wolf man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond after being charged with trafficking fentanyl and a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.
If convicted of the fentanyl charge, James Mark Angelly faces up to 20 years in prison.
The investigation began at approximately 11:54 pm on May 23 when a Beckham County Sheriff’s Office deputy was sitting stationary in his patrol vehicle. He was parked near Walnut Avenue and Roger Miller Boulevard in Erick.
The deputy observed a maroon truck with a headlight out.
The deputy then conducted a routine stop.
During this time, the deputy learned that the driver, Angelly, did not have a valid driver’s license.
The BCSO’s communication deputy then informed the deputy that Angelly had possible outstanding arrest warrant in Kiowa County.
The deputy reportedly discovered a baggie with a white crystal-like substance in one of Angelly’s pockets.
The substance was allegedly fentanyl. The weight was allegedly two grams, which qualifies as trafficking.
