The injured man, 60-year-old Lake T. Newcomb of Elk City, was driving a 2023 New Holland T5 120 EC tractor when a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Anthony B. Bellamy (age and location of residency not included) attempted to pass him.

The tractor then attempted to perform a lefthand turn when the semi-truck then collided with it, causing Newcomb to be ejected.

The Oklahoma Highway Trooper investigating the collision gave fault in the matter to Bellamy for improper passing.

Area farmers are currently in their harvest period. Legally, farm equipment has the rightof- way due to the critical resources their labor provides.
