SWOSU Students to Compete in Love’s Entrepreneur’s Cup

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is happy to announce that two of its business students have been selected to participate in the Love’s Entrepreneur’s Cup. This competition, which is open to all colleges and universities in Oklahoma, simulates actual business procedures by requiring students to conduct market research, develop a business plan, and deliver a pitch to potential investors. Typically, between 20 and 30 teams compete in the event, with each division receiving multiple entries.

Elisabeth Salyer and Tyler Stark, both seniors who will be graduating this Spring semester, are the student team members from SWOSU who are advancing to the oral competition on April 13-14 for the Small Business Division competition.

Salyer and Stark were two of eight finalists selected to present to judges and will compete for more than $15,000 in rewards. The award ceremony will be held on April 20 in front of an audience of 500, and results will be publicized statewide.

The Small Business Division is open to non-research colleges and universities, two-year colleges, and private regional universities. This division offers the opportunity to showcase their strategic creativity with innovative and original business plans. This competition is designed to provide students with real, hands-on experience and to broaden their career prospects to include entrepreneurship. It also provides competitors with the opportunity to network and create long-lasting business relationships.

SWOSU is extremely proud of Salyer and Stark and wishes them the best of luck in the competition. They are an inspiration to other students, and we look forward to seeing their entrepreneurial skills in action.
