A 39-year-old Elk City woman is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $500 bond after being charged with obstructing an officer and entering a home or property when it is expressly forbidden.

The investigation began at approximately 2:53 pm on May 17 when Elk City Police were called to the Elk Carnegie Library.

Chrystina Young had reportedly returned to the library after being there earlier in the day.

During Young’s first visit earlier in the day, she had allegedly been cursing and yelling at people.

She was advised that she had been trespassed from the property.

When officers returned hours later, they reportedly found Young sitting under the library’s tree.

Young was reportedly asked to gather her belongings to leave, but disobeyed and walked away.

She then allegedly resisted an officer’s attempt to grab her and struck him.

She reportedly said, “Socialism paid for the library.”

Young reportedly continued to resist, allegedly saying, “This is my body, I’m resisting your control.”
