Elk City man charged with assault and battery resulting in great bodily injury

A 33-year-old Elk City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with domestic assault and battery resulting in great bodily injury. Although the charges were officially filed on May 13, the report states the investigation began in September. The reporting party claimed that a guest had been “beat up by her boyfriend.”

The suspect was identified as Kodie Ross. The alleged assault had reportedly occurred at a separate Elk City home.

Ross reportedly attacked the alleged victim for “hacking his phone.”

The officer reportedly observed bruising and scratches on the alleged victim’s arm. She refused medical treatment.

Ross claimed that he acted in self-defense.
