Elk City man jailed for felony drug charge

A 23-year-old Elk City man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $6,000 bond after being charged with maintaining a dwelling or building for keeping or selling a controlled dangerous substance. The investigation began at approximately 7 am on May 5 when Elk City Police Department officers served an authorized search warrant and an arrest warrant on the 1120 block of West A Avenue.

Cody Jon Taylor reportedly answered the door.

Taylor was put into hand restraints after officers entered the home.

Taylor was reportedly placed in hand restraints and read his Miranda warning as officers conducted the search.

Officers reportedly found a fentanyl test strip kit and Narcan on the table.

The search warrant was reportedly due to an alleged burglary that occurred at Twisters Coffee Shop.

Officers reportedly uncovered suspected marijuana, burned pieces of tin foil, a paraphernalia pipe, an altered BB gun, and two baggies of marijuana.

Taylor was also charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of CDS.
