Sayre man charged with larceny of an automobile and third-degree burglary

A 39-year-old Sayre man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond for larceny of an automobile and third-degree burglary.

A 39-year-old Sayre man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond for larceny of an automobile and third-degree burglary.

The investigation into Sean Robert Dearing began at approximately 9:30 pm on May 2 when the Sayre Police Department received a call to the 600 block of East Benton in Sayre.

The call reportedly stated someone had “broken into their vehicle and had left their property and started walking down Electra Street.” The suspect was described as having face tattoos while wearing a gray ball cap and camouflage hoodie. The police officer quickly found a man matching the description, identified as Sean Robert Dearing.

The Beckham County Sheriff’s Offi ce shortly assisted.

Dearing reportedly denied knowing about the burglarized vehicle. Dearing said he was walking to his nearby residence.

The vehicle owner reportedly provided video of the alleged crime.

A witness reportedly said that he could “confidently” identify the person breaking into the car.
