Muriel Ruth Gore was born April 25, 1932 in Elk City, OK to Lonnie and Vera Bryan. She passed on April 14, 2024 in Elk City, OK at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

Muriel grew up in Elk City and attended Elk City Schools. She worked as a Deputy County Clerk for Beckham County until she retired. On November 24, 1973, Muriel married Merle Gore at the First Baptist Church in Elk City, OK. After retirement, she and Merle enjoyed being RVers and took many trips, including Branson, MO and Ruidoso, NM. Muriel was an avid reader and served on the Library Board at Elk City for many years. The library often ordered books just for her that were not on the shelves. Muriel was a member of the Second and Adams church of Christ where she served on the Card Ministry. She enjoyed spending time with her RV group, church ladies, and family, especially when they got together to play the board and card game, Joker. She was a fan of the game show Jeopardy and never missed an episode. Her baby great-grand daughter even learned to hum the Jeopardy theme song. This love of Jeopardy led to her being sought out as a partner for trivia games because of her vast knowledge.

She is preceded in death by her husband Merle Gore, parents Lonnie and Vera Bryan, daughter Karol Swinehart, grandson Mark Swinehart, and step son Tommy Gore.

Muriel is survived by her son Mike Rogers and wife Dale of Moore, OK; daughter Kathy and Norman Dean of Clinton, OK; grandchildren Jay and Stepheny Rogers of Moore, OK, John Rogers and Michael Tyler both of Tulsa, OK, Bryan and Eboni Dean both of Federal Way, Washington, Brooke and Heath Dlugonski of Canute, OK, Tommy Gore of Virginia Beach, Virginia; great grandchildren Cooper, Carly, Natalie, Grady, and Brielle; special friends Valeria Jay and Eilene Maddox; and extended family and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Erick De Rocher and the second floor nursing staff at Great Plains Regional Medical Center for the care, and loving kindness they showed toward Muriel.
