A 22-year-old Erick man is being held on a $100,000 bond in the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with threatening to perform violence, obstructing an officer, and three counts of kidnapping.

The investigation began on April 7 when a Beckham County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to an apartment complex in Erick.

The call was reportedly in reference to a welfare check.

The reporting party had called because they were allegedly concerned about the wellbeing of a woman inside one of the apartments.

The woman had reportedly sent text messages to family members that they allegedly believed could indicate that she was in danger.

The woman was allegedly fearful of Corbin Lake DeLeon.

“I approached the door and knocked on the door and could hear movement inside the apartment, but no one would come to the door,” the deputy wrote. “I then knocked again and announced myself as the sheriff’s department, and still did not get an answer. I could hear children inside and movement, so I knocked louder on the door and announced myself again and stated for someone to come to the door,” the deputy wrote.

The deputy added, “I continued to knock on the door, announcing who I was and stating that I was not leaving until someone came to the door. Corbin then began talking to me through the door, stating that me knocking louder was ‘triggering’ him and that he was under no obligation to open the door or to talk to me. I then told Corbin that I needed to speak to (omitted) and to have her come to the door. He told me that she didn’t want to come to the door. As the conversation continued, he stated that she was having a panic attack, but did not need medical attention. As this went on, I explained to Corbin that I believed he was not allowing (omitted) to come to the door and I would be treating the situation as a kidnapping. He then came outside shortly after, locking the door behind him from the inside, and shutting it. I then detained Corbin and escorted him to Deputy Allen’s patrol unit.”

DeLeon was reportedly reluctant to get in the patrol car due to the K9 Deputy Boss’s barking, allegedly stating that he was “PTSD and the barking was triggering him.”

DeLeon was then reportedly allowed to sit on the curb while the second deputy made contact with the alleged victim.

The alleged victim reportedly stated that DeLeon “threatened to kill her if she went to the door and that (omitted) locked herself and her two children in the bathroom due to him getting aggressive and refusing to let her go to the door.”

The reporting deputy then toldDeLeonthathewasunder arrestforkidnapping.
