Sayre man held on $10,000 bond

A 33-year-old Sayre man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond after being charged with first-degree burglary and domestic assault and battery.

A 33-year-old Sayre man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond after being charged with first-degree burglary and domestic assault and battery.

John Edward Sanders III faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. The investigation began at approximately 10:01 pm on April 5 after the Sayre Police Department received a call for an officer in Sayre.

The reporting party allegedly stated that Sanders arrived at the residence and pulled out a window air conditioner unit.

Th alleged victim reportedly stated that she went to her front door, but Sanders had gotten the door opened.

Sanders allegedly kicked the front door open.

Sanders allegedly punched the alleged victim.

The alleged victim filled out paperwork for an emergency protective order, which a judge authorized.

The investigating officer then went to Sanders’s residence to serve him.

Sanders and the alleged victim both stated that Sanders had come to the residence to retrieve his computer.

The officer reportedly could not see bruising on the alleged victim.
