Shirley Jean Teague

Shirley Jean Teague, 68, of Elk City, was born on November 6, 1955, to Willard Eldon & Edna Mae (Johnson)Teague in Elk City, Oklahoma, and was called home by her Lord & Savior on March 27, 2024, while surrounded by her family in Wylie, Texas. Shirley graduated in 1974 from Rocky Ford High School in Rocky Ford, Colorado. She was blessed with her only child, Christina Lynn, in April of 1978. Shirley’s employment history included Western Communications Answering Service, Anthony’s Department stores, and Bonnie’s Bail Bonds. Her last 10 years of employment were spent in the Gate Security division of CUDD Pressure Control Services for the Elk City yard. For a few years, Shirley was a licensed pilot. An accomplishment of which she was extremely proud.

Shirley loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. The train rides and visits with her family in Texas were special times she held close to her heart. She cherished her many friendships beyond measure and unconditionally loved her friends with all her heart.

Shirley’s favorite pastimes were enjoying the hummingbirds, at her feeder, with her morning coffee, growing & maintaining beautiful house plants, and grabbing a “coke” at Hutch’s convenience stores. These interactions with friends & strangers warmed her soul’ and made her happy.

Shirley is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Ed & Hazel (Young) Johnson, Eunice (Teague) Brown, and Richard (Dick) Teague; parents, Eldon & Edna (Johnson) Teague: sister Trela S. Teague; aunts, Lillie M. (Marshall) Teague and Jonnie F. (Lowe) Johnson; uncle, Wildon D. Teague, and cousin, Diana M. (Teague) Standiford.

Cherishing Shirley’s memory are her sister, Jeanne L. (Teague) Henry and son Laramie E. Wright of Elk City, OK; daughter, Christina L. (Moore) Hunsicker & husband, Andrew R. (Andy) of Wylie, TX; 1 niece & her family of Catoosa, OK; grandchildren, Garbiel C. Trahan IV, Bryson A. Hunsicker, Genee C. Trahan-Garda & husband, Hector A., and Kiersten A. Hunsicker all of Wylie, TX; uncle Eugene E. Johnson of Purcell, OK; cousins, Eddie K. Johnson & wife Rhonda of Bedford, TX; Tammi G. Johnson & daughter, Stefani B. of Purcell, OK; Denise (Teague) Parman & husband, Randy of Cheyenne, OK and Deborah {Teague) Cowan of Perryton, TX; along with numerous friends and colleagues. The family would like to express a special “thank you” to Lee & Shirley Ann Anderson and Michelle Morgan for helping maintain her quality of daily life, your unselfish sacrifices, and all the love you showed throughout the years.
