Mikinna Lynn Hays

Mikinna was born October 22, 1988 to Frederica (Neal) and Thomas W. Faris, in Denver, Colorado. Heaven gained a beautiful angel on February 6, 2024 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 35 years, 3 months, and 15 days.

Mikinna was born October 22, 1988 to Frederica (Neal) and Thomas W. Faris, in Denver, Colorado. Heaven gained a beautiful angel on February 6, 2024 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 35 years, 3 months, and 15 days.

They lived in and around Delta, Colorado. At the age of 5, Mikinna was adopted by Daniel Scott Vezakis, when her mother remarried. They moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where Mikinna attended school.

Music was Mikinna’s passion. She loved to sing and write songs and she had a beautiful voice. She was offered a music scholarship, but she never pursued it. She met the love of her life, Zachary Hays, in Rifle, Colorado. They were married in Rock Springs, Wyoming on December 11, 2013, where they lived and were raising their four beautiful children. Her children were the center of her life, her pride and joy!

Mikinna had a very free spirit and magnetic personality which touched many lives. The bond she created with friendships and acquaintances, she remained loyal to throughout her life.

She was preceeded in death by her step-father, James Karl Anderson. Her maternal grandparents, Fred Clifford Neal and Lucille E. and Albert F. James. Her paternal grandparents, James and Octavia Faris. Her mother-in-law, Connie Schmieder and step father-in-law, Ken Schmieder. And one special aunt, Starla Jean Haynes.

She is survived by her husband, Zachary Hays, and her children, Faith Raelynn Faris, Hayden Derrick Hays, Grace Lynn Hays, and Zayden Hunter Hays, all of the home, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Her mother, Frederica Neal and fiancé Laverene Hartley, of Reydon, Oklahoma. Her father, Thomas Faris, of Delta, Colorado. Her adopted father, Daniel Scott Vezakis, of Knowles, Alaska. Her step-brother, Dillion James Anderson, of Texas. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 8th, 2024, at 2:00pm, at Reydon Community Church, Main St., Reydon, Oklahoma, with Dr. Alberta Helton officiating.
