The first ever Junior High School Elk City team participated in its first tournament on Monday, March 25th at the Elk City Golf & C.C. Both, boys and girls played nine holes.
Boys: The Elk City Boys won the tournament with a 196 and the following individual scores: Logan Duncan & Keaton Finnell 48’s (tied 4th individually), Hunter Womack and Jack Redd 50’s, and Maddox McArthur 56; 2nd Team Place was Clinton with 206; Individual scores were: Jeter King 47 (3rd individually), Conner Meget 50, Eli Anderson 52, Snyder Dowdell & Rayden Walker 57’s. Kooper Elkouri, from Cache won individual with 39; and Boston Stover, from the JV Elk City team took second individually with a 46.
Girls: Clinton won 1st place with a cumulative score of 215. The individual scores were: Stella Meacham 52, Tatum Fanisher 53, Bella Bridgeman 54, Hadley Meget 56, Laney Anderson 57. Second place was Weatherford with a 231. Individual scores were: Avry Voight 54 Tatum Kaiser 56, Olivia Roper 59, Kiah Kerth 62, Ava Tourian 67. Jolie Pinkard from Balko won individual 1st with a 46. Best score by an Elk City girl was Fenli Simmons with a 55.
Congratulations to Brian Hunt, Elk City Athletic Director for his push to include younger golfers in his program. No one in Elk City knows more about kids reaching their potential than Coach Hunt as he coached the State Champions twice and took several teams, Boys and Girls to the State Tournament.
