A 42-year-old Elk City man has been charged with assault and battery on a police officer.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Lamar Williamson was being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on March 11 when he was being transferred to a segregation cell due to “repeated problems” happening within the pod.
Williamson allegedly pulled away from a detention officer and struck the officer with an elbow to the mouth while attempting to head-butt him.
“OC spray” was deployed during the incident.
