Red Carpet Community Theatre’s production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” is a classic show that director, Benjamin Dobbs, and cast will get the audience roaring with the comedic timing and characters. Words cannot express how impressive these actors bring the Brewster family’s shenanigans to a new level of stage chemistry.

The dear sisters, Abby played by Misty Musick, and Martha played by Donna King, brilliantly play off each other’s quirky need to off their gentlemen callers. Then there is Joshua Barnett’s portrayal of Uncle Teddy (Roosevelt), who startles the audience every time heenters and leaves the stage, believing he is President Teddy Roosevelt.

If there were an actor that stole the show, it could be Shaden Foresman’s ability to bring Mortimer Brewster’s shock at finding out his dear aunts’ secret. Foresman’s physical comedy is just as impressive as his delivery and timing of the lines.

Mortimer’s fiancé, Elaine Harper played by Sierra Duke, and her father, the Reverend Dr. Harper played by Jim Brown, were able to set the stage for the aunts’ and Mortimer’s exposure to what was stored in the basement.

Alex Duke also brings a physical comedy to the stage in his portrayal of Dr. Einstein, along with Zach Perry’s creepy character, Jonathan Brewster. The pair of hoodlums perfectly play off each other’s needs to escape from their past.

All of the actors, no matter the number of lines or importance to the storyline, brought their own flavor to their characters. Whether it was their first time on the stage, or a veteran actor, their professional abilities gave this production exactly what it needed to be one of the best productions on the RCCT stage.

It is a must-see show. Make reservations now to get the opportunity to watch this fantastic cast bring down the house with laughter. Go to rcct.org to get tickets.
