Sayre Eagles couldn’t keep up with Navajo Indians High School Varsity and fell 23-3 on Thursday.
Sayre Eagles scored three runs in the fourth inning. Sayre Eagles offense in the inning was led by KK Beard, Rocky Willis, and Cam Plummer, who all drove in runs.
Navajo Indians High School Varsity scored 17 runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Navajo Indians High School Varsity came thanks to singles by Carson Brooks, #16, Dallas Sanchez, Kobe Forbes, and Holder Dunn, doubles by Forbes, Dunn, and Brooks, walks by #9 and Mario Berumen, by Keaton Fixico and Brooks, and an error on a ball put in play by Fixico and Sanchez.
#9 led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Navajo Indians High School Varsity. The bulldog went three and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out one.
Lucien Zakrzewicz led things off on the mound for Sayre Eagles. The pitcher surrendered six runs on six hits over four innings, striking out two. Hunter Hanrahan threw one inning in relief.
Sayre Eagles totaled seven hits. Willis and Hanrahan each had multiple hits for Sayre Eagles. Hanrahan and Willis each collected two hits to lead Sayre Eagles.
Navajo Indians High School Varsity collected 16 hits on the day. Forbes, Dunn, #9, Brooks, and Berumen all collected multiple hits for Navajo Indians High School Varsity.
