Elk City Mid School boys and girls competed in the Lawton tournament with participants from Moore, Lawton Mac, Lawton Central, and Chickasha. Both boys and girls #1 and #2 doubles never lost a set today!
In girls #1 singles, Josie McConnell, fought her way back to the finals after losing in a winner takes all next point at 5 all games and 3 all in points 6-5. She faced that opponent again in the semi-final of the back draw where she won 6-3 then handily beat a girl in the finals 6-2.
Kendall Pierce lost her first round match and fought her way back to the final to meet her first round opponent again to come away with runner-up. I am so proud of how hard our girls and boys competed today against bigger schools!
