Canute High School student crowned Miss Route 66

Taylor Sullivan has long ties to Beckham County

A 15-year-old Canute High School student earned the prestigious title of Miss Route 66 last week.

Taylor Sullivan is the daughter of Frank and Patsy Sullivan. The victory also earned her the privilege of participating in the Miss Oklahoma Teen pageant. The program is a part of the Miss American System, which gives out tens of thousands in annual scholarship money.

Her mother Patsy said, “She goes to Canute High School and is 15. I know a lot of people think this may just be for fun or a hobby, but the Miss Oklahoma organization is an incredibut ble scholarship program. If she goes on to win Miss Oklahoma Teen, she will then progress to Miss America Teen. Her Miss (Mentor) is also from Elk City and her name is Macy Eminger. She is 26 and a GM for Sonic in Sayre. They are also holding a fundraiser for the American Heart Association on April 6.”
