A 76-year-old Elk City sex offender is being held on a $10,000 bond in the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with failure to register as a sex offender.
Tommy Lynn Copeland faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
He was convicted in a 2006 case in Beckham County on charges of possession or producing child pornography.
The investigation began on February 5 when the Elk City Police Department’s sex offender coordinator looked into Copeland.
She realized Copeland had not changed his address from one hotel to the other.
