A 37-year-old Elk City woman has been charged with possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
If convicted, Christina Lupita Muniz faces up to ten years in prison.
Muniz was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation began in Sayre on February 18 when a Beckham County Sheriff’s Office deputy was finishing a traffic stop while reportedly observing a white single-cab pickup with a male standing up into the back “yelling profanity.”
The deputy stopped the truck.
The deputy was able to find the two women who had reportedly been in the truck.
One was reportedly Muniz. She reportedly had an arrest warrant through Beckham County.
The deputy allegedly identifi ed the suspect’s purse and discovered a gun and drug paraphernalia.
Muniz allegedly confessed that it was her purse, as well as being a felon.
