An arrest warrant for child neglect and drug possession with the intent to distribute

An arrest warrant was issued in Beckham County District Court on April 5 for a 51-year-old Elk City woman for charges of child neglect, possession with the intent to distribute controlled, dangerous substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An arrest warrant was issued in Beckham County District Court on April 5 for a 51-year-old Elk City woman for charges of child neglect, possession with the intent to distribute controlled, dangerous substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation began on October 20, 2022, when an Elk City Police Department detective arrived at the 2200 block of North Van Buren to contact Tammy Bardwell regarding a narcotics investigation.

During the course of this investigation, the detective allegedly obtained over two grams of methamphetamine and a pipe with burnt residue which was inside the house.

Bardwell reportedly stated that these items were hers.

“During the course of the investigation, this detective knows that there are children that reside inside the residence. The three juveniles with ages range from 9-13 years of age, making them all under the age of 18 with illegal activities present inside the residence,” the detective wrote.

Bardwell has a preset bond of $10,000.
