A 21-year-old Clinton man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on an unreported bond amount after being charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of third-degree burglary.

The alleged crimes are punishable by up to seven years in prison.

At approximately 5:10 pm, the Elk City Police Department received a call from a woman who said her vehicle had been entered earlier that morning and approximately $120 in cash had reportedly been stolen. The alleged victim had video surveillance of the alleged crime.

The woman also listed $100 in change and stolen AirPods.

The video was “high quality” and reportedly gave law enforcement a clear view of the suspect.

A visible tattoo led the officer to believe the suspect could be Mark James Porter.

The alleged victim was reportedly able to identify Porter from past mugshots.

A post to Facebook from the ECPD also had three people identify the suspect as Porter.

Porter did go to the police department when asked to come in for questioning.

Porter reportedly admitted to sleeping under the alleged victim’s carport but denied the thefts.
