Following last week’s 46-22 big victory against Granite, the Sayre Lady Eagles played until the wire against Navajo.

Following last week’s 46-22 big victory against Granite, the Sayre Lady Eagles played until the wire against Navajo.

Ultimately, the Sayre girls lost 46-42, but their performance went to the buzzer and could have gone to either team.

Head Coach Staci Wilson’s crew has been impressive with their strong wins, but their greatest skill this season has been holding up even in tight games that go their way. The team is solid. The Lady Eagles were ahead at the first quarter, but lost some momentum in the second. That gave Navajo just the few extra points that meant a victory.

The Sayre girls also outscored their opponents in the third and fourth quarters.

Top scorer was Emily Easter with 14 followed by Gracie Myers with 11, Maecee Kirtley with 10, Layla Stout with 5, and Laney Easter with 2.
