A 37-year-old Elk City woman is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond after being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.

The felony charges were officially filed in the Beckham County District Court on January 8, but the investigation began on January 1.

At that time, an Elk City Police Department detective learned of a potential stabbing that had reportedly taken place on the 100 block of South Pioneer.

The alleged victim had been taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The following day, the detective was reportedly shown photographs of items that were “cut up” in the residence.

The detective also reportedly saw a video of the residence that showed blood on the floor.

The alleged victim reportedly suffered cuts to his tendons and will be required to see a specialist.

The suspect, Jenny Nicole Jones, was taken into custody.

When ECPD officers arrived at the scene on the day of the alleged incident, body camera footage reportedly revealed Jones admitting to having a knife.

An officer was able to retrieve the knife.

While speaking with the detective, Jones allegedly admitted that she hit the victim’s hand with the knife but stated that she did not stab him.

Jones has a previous 2012 conviction of assault with a deadly weapon.

She is due back in court on February 12.
