At the beginning of an otherwise chaotic week for local law enforcement, the Elk City Police Department filed charges against two men in an alleged drive-by shooting.
The two men are currently being held at the Beckham County Detention Center without bond. Court documents are not yet available.
The ECPD released the following press release: Press Release: The Elk City Police De-partment was notified of a shooting that had occurred on West C Street here in Elk City. Officers were notified of the location by the victims and started working the scene. Officers gathered physical evidence and later recovered video evidence of a drive by shooting. During the course of the investigation, Detectives and Officers worked closely with cooperating victims, neighbors and witnesses to gain more video surveillance of the drive by shooting. Detectives were able to identify the suspect that was driving the vehicle involved in the shooting. That subject was arrested on 1-9-2024 at the Elk City Police Department after he turned himself in knowing that the Elk City Police Department was searching for him.
More evidence led the Elk City Police Department to the second suspect (shooter) and a search warrant was executed at a residence, obtaining more evidence involved in the shooting. The second suspect was arrested on 1-10-2024. The Elk City Police Department wants to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation and our goal in making Elk City a safe place.

They are innocent until proven guilty and await formal charges from the Beckham County District Attorney’s Offi ce.
