Four piano classes from Ivory ‘N Ovations Piano presented end of the semester performances for their parents and friends on December 12 and 14. Each student played one solo, and performed class activities unique to that group. The students are learning the basics of good hand and finger technique at the piano, as well as beginning note reading, rhythm, expression, and ensemble playing. The students enjoy a weekly class time that involves playing pieces on the piano, music reading games and lots of fun group activities. The piano class consists of 7 full-sized keyboards, and a lab system which allows the teacher to hear individual students or several students at a time.
Beginning piano classes are a great way to see if a student enjoys learning piano and the group setting is fun and motivating. Classes are taught in Sayre by Mrs. Jerri Headrick, who has a Masters in Piano.
Congratulations to these students on their hard work over the fall semester. Mrs. Headrick would like to thank the parents of these students for their encouragement. Successful piano study is always a partnership between teacher, student and parent.
