Elk City High School received an overall C grade in their 2223 Report Card. The State of Oklahoma earned 55 percent, while ECHS earned 47 percent overall. Chronic absenteeism refers to students who miss ten percent or more of the school year for any reason. This indicator could mean a student is at academic risk.

This indicator looks at students in the 11th grade who take the Oklahoma School Testing program assessments in math, English language arts, and science to determine their readiness for college and in the workplace.
In the area of ELA, ECHS was ranked 51.9 percent compared to the state’s 41.6. They earned 7.5 points out of the 15 possible, which resulted in a positive outcome for this category. In the area of math, ECHS got 5.3 points out of 15. This resulted in being below the state’s percentage of 40.5, where ECHS came in at 32.7.
The lowest area in academic achievement was science. They earned 2.6 points out of 15 possible points. The school held a 20.6 percentage ranking compared to the state’s 44.9 percent. These scores show areas that are in need of improvement and give educators, administrators, and students room for growth.
The faculty at ECHS are experienced. They are ranked at 86.9 percent compared to the state’s 79.3 percent.
The overall participation in the assessment for ECHS was at 97.7 percent, and the state’s participation was at 98.6 percent. The report card has been released to parents and students to evaluate the progress of the school. Each year the report card is given for every district in the state. It is an opportunity for teachers to evaluate student’s needs, therefore to adjust goals, curriculum, or assessments.
