Elk City man charged with felony assault and battery

A 30-year-old Elk City man is being held on a $1,500 bond after being charged with felony second and subsequent assault and battery.

A 30-year-old Elk City man is being held on a $1,500 bond after being charged with felony second and subsequent assault and battery.

The report began by the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 5:26 am on December 16 after the BCSO received a call related to a “physical domestic in progress.”

Christopher Cole Coffelt was reported to have committed assault upon another person in a rural Beckham County home.

Coffelt was allegedly “very intoxicated” and committing assault upon another adult in the home.

Upon arrival, the deputy reportedly put Coffelt in hand restraints.

However, Coffelt allegedly resisted.

The deputy reportedly grabbed a chair to put upon Coffelt to control Coffelt.
