Arrest warrants issued for Texas couple in alleged Walmart car theft

Arrest warrants have been issued in Beckham County for an Atlanta, Texas, couple after the pair allegedly stole a vehicle from a man giving them a ride.

Arrest warrants have been issued in Beckham County for an Atlanta, Texas, couple after the pair allegedly stole a vehicle from a man giving them a ride.

The warrants were issued in the Beckham County District Court on December 7, but the call to Elk City Police actually came in on October 5.

At that time, the car’s owner said he was on his way to California and had picked up Candice Nicole Bainbridge and Daniel Lee Preather in Midwest.

The couple was reportedly homeless and traveling with a cat.

They allegedly said they had crashed their U-haul.

The alleged victim said he made an agreement with them to pitch in for gas for the trip.

The alleged victim said when they made it to Elk City, they first went to a local pawnshop so the couple could pawn some items.

He also stated he got hotel rooms under his ID because the couple didn’t have identifi cation The alleged victim then reportedly went into Walmart, but came out to find his car missing.

He didn’t know the couple’s last names, but did have their cell phone numbers and Cash App.

The vehicle was later found in weatherford.

The couple had also been charged in Weatherford with possession of stolen property.
