Two Erick citizens have outstanding warrants in Beckham County for obstruction of an officer.
The report states that possible child abuse/neglect charges are pending.
Arrest warrants were issued for 53-year-old Catherine Walker and 29-year-old Jacob Isaac Walker in Beckham County District Court on December 7.
On December 5, a Beckham County Sheriff’s Office deputy assisted the Erick Police Chief in a child removal through the Department of Human Services.
The removal was from a home on South Pine in Erick and included six children.
The report noted that the deputy, who wrote the report, was aware of the “several incidents” of Jacob Walker allegedly going to Erick Elementary School and “acting violently and being verbally abusive to staff.”
The report does not indicate why the children were being removed from the home.
However, the report does indicate that when law enforcement approached the house and announced themselves that Jacob Walker and Catherine Walker both obstructed by refusing to allow them in the home.
Eventually, the two adults reportedly did come to the front door.
The deputy reportedly informed Jacob Walker of the order to remove the children.
At this time, Jacob allegedly went back in the house. This was reportedly ignoring orders.
The deputy asked Catherine to go into the home to gather the children.
Jacob allegedly held the door handle, preventing the officers from making entrance.
The deputy pulled his deputy weapon, but transitioned to a taser when he realized that Jacob was not armed.
The incident eventually ended peacefully.
