Sayre Elementary’s third and fourth graders dazzle in Christmas play

Few people enjoy the magic of the Christmas season more than third and fourth graders.

Few people enjoy the magic of the Christmas season more than third and fourth graders.

Last week, Sayre Elementary’s third and fourth grade classes took center stage to usher in holiday cheer in their well-rehearsed play.

Under the helm of Sayre Elementary music teacher Mrs. Cindy Helton, the children left no talent unseen.

The play was called “Christmas in the West.” The set was adorned with green and red as far as the eye could see. Parents and loved ones were relished with holiday classics and a few bits that were unexpected.

The children have worked on the production for months.

When their long work was finally able to be presented to their adoring public, they were decked out in costumes worthy of Broadway.

Some were elves. Others were reindeer and Mrs. Claus.

The children were proud of their performance, but not as proud as their teachers who saw the play come to life.
