The November meeting of the Washita NSDAR was held on November 13, 2023 at the Café Clinton with the Vice Regent, Doris Minor, and Chaplain Judy Tracy opening with the DAR Ritual. Leading the Pledge of Allegiance was Evely Hart, followed by the American’s Creed by Marilyn Wilson, Robetha Fariss leading the preamble to the Constitution and State Regent, Nancy Lisle, led the Oklahoma Flag Salute.

Leading the Pledge of Allegiance was Evely Hart, followed by the American’s Creed by Marilyn Wilson, Robetha Fariss leading the preamble to the Constitution and State Regent, Nancy Lisle, led the Oklahoma Flag Salute.

The State Regent, Nancy Lisle was recognized and welcomed.

The President General’s Message was given by Ellena Womack noting the travel to Italy that the Executive Committee was to take and would be acknowledging “Filippo Mazzei, who played an instrumental role during the American Revolution, at a wreath-laying ceremony in Pisa. Thegroupwouldalso join the Units Overseas Conference. This Committee was established in 1950 to provide a link between the National Society and DAR members living outside the United States, and currently has chapters in 12 countries around the world.” Sheacknowledged Veterans Day and DAR’s gratefulness to the veterans andtheir service. Shereminded members to save the date of December 6th for the DAR Holiday Open House.

The National Defense excerpt : “Few may recall the events of October 26, 1918, but they express the power of the ideas and precepts in the U.S. Constitution and what might happen when those who have freedom, take it for granted. In this year, the 104th anniversary of the Treaty of Versailles and the 34th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, it is vital to remember that: “WE THE PEOPLE” are each of us. WE are our government. We hold our freedom in our hands.”

Patriot Records Project : members Lu Eisler, and Doris Minor have a total of 33 hours working on and deciphering Patriot records.

A business meeting was held and Committee Reports were given by members. Members are reminded to bring two books for the December meeting.

The meeting was closed with the Daughter’s Pledge. Those attending were: Robetha Fariss, Kathryn Harrison, Evely Hart, Doris Minor, Virginia Reid, Linda Stewart, Judy Tracy, Marilyn Wilson, Ellena Womack, Associate member Kathy Patterson, Prospective member Pat Sides and State Regent Nancy Lisle
