In last week’s Beckham County Record, we reported upon a multiple fatality colli-sion that left Jose Paxtor Oxlaj charged with first-degree manslaughter.

The initial report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol did not assign blame to anyone in collision, as it was still under investigation.

Court documents filed on November 28, however, assigns blame in the deaths to Paxtor Oxlaj.

He is currently being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond, but Immigration and Customs Enforcement has a hold on him. ICE will likely deport him after his case is completed.

If he is found guilty, he will first serve his time.

The affidavit alleges that Paxtor Oxlaj had picked up undocumented aliens in New York and was transporting them to Los Angeles for a fee.

The defendant allegedly knew none of the passengers.

The affidavit also states that Paxtor Oxlaj failed to yield, causing this vehicle to be t-boned.
