Carsen James Perry was born September 18th, 2009 at Elk City, Oklahoma to Caitlin Michelle (Cox) and Tyson Buck Perry. He passed away on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 14 years, 1 month and 17 days.

Carsen loved spending time with his family and a countless number of friends. The special bond he had with his cousins will forever be a driving force in their lives moving forward.

Carsen was never hard to find. If he wasn’t chasing coyotes with his dad, Tyson, rodeoing with Papa Chris, or in the tractor with Papa Gene, he was at a futurity with his Uncle Justin. A natural-born leader, he would always have at least 1 (sometimes 5 or 6) of his cousins, siblings or buddies helping him feed and tend to bulls at 6-C.

Carsen’s smile and sense of humor was contagious. His laugh and “Cowboy” grin could turn anyone’s bad day around in a hurry. Even beyond his charismatic personality, he found constant joy in caring for others. No matter the situation, he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

At his young age, Carsen was an accomplished stock contractor and competitive bucking bull trainer. He was also very active at Erick Junior High School playing both basketball and baseball for his Bearcats. He was a valuable asset and a huge part of both McCloy Rodeo and 6-C Bucking Bulls. In the brief time he was given, the skill set he developed as a “Bull Man” was second to none.

He was in his 2nd year as an ABBI junior member. His futurity bull, 791 Motley Crew, had an extraordinary year. Carsen managed to get Motley Crew to 18 events where he picked up 15 checks! Just three weeks ago, they ended the year in Las Vegas by earning 91.36 and 90 pts to secure 1st and 2nd in the first and second rounds. These exceptional “outs” secured his Junior Futurity Reserve World Champion title.

His parents, Tyson and Caty, are very thankful to have been right beside him in every step of his amazing journey through life. They are truly grateful for their recent experience together at the ABBI World Finals in Las Vegas. Watching him bloom into the young man he was becoming will forever be a blessing and highlight of their life. His little sister, Ansley, and baby brother, Creed, have always been extremely proud of their big brother. Looking forward, his siblings are excited to carry on his legacy.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Perry; great grandparents, Johnny and Jeanna Bobo; great grandmother “granny”, Nell Jane Tennery and Walter and Louise Perry.

Carsen is survived by his parents, Tyson and Caty Perry, of the home; his sister and brother, Ansley and Creed Perry, both of the home; grandparents, Chris and Michelle Cox, Erick, OK and Gene Perry and wife, Brenda, Sweetwater, OK; great grandparents, Tommy Cox, Erick, OK; Aunts and Uncles, Justin and Sarah Cox, El Reno, OK, Cody Cox, Garrett Cox, Colin, Dylan, Dalton, Jordon Perry and a host of other relatives and friends.
