Sagebrush, Inc. of Sayre is looking for a little help from local Santa’s.
The non-profit organization, which provides residential and employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, wants to provide Christmas gifts to the 21 individuals it serves.
Anyone wanting to provide a monetary donation, said Executive Director Stacey Sands, can send it to Sagebrush, Inc., 101 Greer, Sayre, OK 73662. For more information, call 580-9285715. He said they need the donations by Dec. 19.
Sagebrush, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) corporation (non-profit), so donations are tax-deductible.
Sands also reports that the Sagebrush thrift store is now open at 205 S. Broadway. Sagebrush will pick up any donations for the thrift store. Just call them and they will come get the items, she said.
Sagebrush provides community-based employment for approximately 21 individuals served. This includes lawn care in Elk City and Sayre. They also do flower beds, windows and other services. There is a workshop, a grouphome, and semi-independent living services.
Much of the service is done under contract with the state Dept. of Human Services, through which Sagebrush returns hundreds of thousands of dollars of tax money to western Oklahoma each year.
