A 20-year-old Elk City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $1,500 bond after being charged with driving under the influence with the second offense within ten years and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
At approximately 2:02 am on October 27, Elk City Police Department officers were dispatched to a “harassment call” in the area of South Randall and West 8th Street in which the reporting party allegedly said her ex-boyfriend was chasing her and that he had attempted to hit her vehicle with his.
Upon arrival in the area, the reporting officer observed a vehicle matching the description that had been given of the ex-boyfriend’s truck.
The truck was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed.
“I observed several traffic violations, including failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to use a turn signal,” the officer wrote.
The officer initiated a traffic stop. The truck allegedly continued to drive briefly before hitting a curb while pulling over.
The driver was identified as Bryant Todd Perry.
Perry’s license was allegedly suspended out of California.
The officer could allegedly smell a strong odor of alcohol.
Perry reportedly refused the breathalyzer test.
Perry was read and served a copy of the Elk City Police Department Stalking Warning Letter, and a copy was placed in his property.
