The City of Erick’s 9th Annual Toy Drive, sponsored by Erick Emergency Services is in full swing right now. Purchase a gift for a special girl or boy, ages 0-15 years old, and deliver them unwrapped to Erick City Hall by December 13th. I have had a difficult time expressing myself during the loss of such a wonderful and special young man, but seeing this community along with Mayfield/Sweetwater turn out to support the Perry & Cox families during the loss of sweet Carsen Perry, has been so extraordinary that I can’t go on without mentioning how much it meant to all of us to see the town turn out to celebrate the life of Carsen. It has made such an incredibly, tragic loss a little bit more bearable to know how many loved Carsen, and how many lives he touched in his 14 years with his sweet smile and loving heart. He was an exceptional and precious soul and we will all miss him terribly. Carsen was able to bring us all together and for the first time in a very long time, I can say that I am so proud to be from here where the caring spirit is still alive and well in our little town and our neighboring communities to the north of us. Please keep praying for comfort for his family and friends, and maybe, just maybe, we should all try to be a little more like Carsen!
