County Health Department Hosts Pool School

District 5 County Health Departments are pleased to announce the upcoming Pool Operator Training in Lawton, Elk City and Lone Wolf. The training is an opportunity for attendees to learn about safe pool operations.

District 5 County Health Departments are pleased to announce the upcoming Pool Operator Training in Lawton, Elk City and Lone Wolf. The training is an opportunity for attendees to learn about safe pool operations.

The instructor for the class is Victoria Hovell, a public health specialist at Oklahoma State Department of Health specializing in public bathing, who will share information regarding pool safety and maintenance.

The first Pool School is scheduled for Comanche County on April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Comanche County Fairground Prairie Building, 920 SW Sheridan Road, in Lawton. The second Pool School takes place in Beckham County on April 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Western Technology Center, Room 103, 301 Western Drive, in Elk City. Pool School’s final class is in Kiowa County on May 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Quartz Mountain Lodge, 22469 Lodge Road, in Lone Wolf.

“The training will provide pool operators with knowledge and skills helpful to the operation of pools,” said Hovell. “We welcome anyone responsible for the maintenance and safety of a pool to attend this class.”
