JAMES BOHANNON

James Lynn Bohannon was born November 12th, 1945 at Sayre, Oklahoma to JC and Nadine Bohannon. He passed away May 24, 2024 at his home in Sayre at the age of 78.

James grew up in Sayre and graduated from high school in 1964. He was a dominating lineman on the Sayre High School football team. He was selected as Junior Master Farmer in FFA, and he thoroughly enjoyed his time at Sayre High School.

He was married to Jan Hardin at Shamrock, TX in 1964. They moved to Seattle, Washington in 1965 where he was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company. In 1967 James’s brother, Johnny, was killed in action in Vietnam, and James and Jan moved back to Sayre to make their home. He was in the Dairy business for a number of years. Next, he was employed by SDODA at Burns Flat, OK until he retired. James was reunited with his life long friend Maire Ruedemann and spent his last 22 years with her. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and traveling.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Johnny.

He is survived by Mairie Ruedemann of the home, his son Chad of Sayre; daughters Joannie and Michael Fraser of Okemah, OK and Jimi and John Coats of Sayre; brother Mike Bohannon and Donnell of Sayre; sister Billie Cook and husband, Earl of Sayre; grandchildren Jordan Fraser of Pawhuska, OK, Josie Fraser of Okehmah, OK, Joseph and Kelcey Coats of Sayre and Jesi Coats of Sayre; great grandchildren Grant, Hayes, and Eli Harris, Coy Coats; bonus kids Melissa and Kalle Mais of Dallas, TX, Mati Mais, Houston, TX, and Taimi Mais of Hobart, TX; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
